Reflecting over my short and sweet time in Nottingham, I realised this was one of my favourite memories of first term. It hurts knowing it more than likely won't be taking place
again this year, because of social distancing and all that, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed anyway 🤷♀️.
It annually takes place at the Forest Recreation Ground, at the end of September - start of October, and is a free event. The amount of visitors it brings into the city is amazing, and of course for new students it is a good starting point to explore their new area.
I'd guess that there must be over 500 attractions - from those extreme rides for thrill seekers, to the ever-popular family / children's old-time rides. There is the classic bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, chance to win goldfish (which I don't support but it's a fairground necessity so it seems... The Goose Fair is actually one of Europe's largest travelling fairs with a history that dates back more than 700 years.
I visited with Emily and we did have a lot of fun - yes, even at our big age. I'd actually never been to a fair that big and I honestly felt like such a child - getting all excited over the lights, food, and array of rides (cringeee).
