The Beginning of a New Decade:

Over the last few days I have been reflecting over 2019 and realised I really have had an incredible year.

The BEST people have entered my life, I got rid of (most) negative energy and 'friends' I realised were only there for drama or gossip when they needed it, I worked full time, saved money I never thought I'd see, partied every week in Liverpool with my friends who were in uni, I travelled by myself through Thailand, partied in Ibiza with my best friends, loved a little, learnt to cook (ish) and moved away from home... wow!

My mum and I also became closer than ever this year which I love, she really is my bffl ❤️. I've definitely learnt to be more appreciative of what my parents have done and given me, and how lucky I truly am to have them.

I am definitely going into the new decade with much excitement for what the next 10 years shall bring me, although it is rather frightening...

It's a big one for all us late 90's/millennial babies as this decade should be a big life changer. I'd love to be settled down and possibly married come the late 2020's but realistically, my luck with love is on a whole new level of tragic, so I can't see that looking particularly likely. My friends on the other hand - I can totally see at least 5/6 being married with kids! Very frightening if you ask me 😳.

Of course I'd love to be graduated with a first, and possibly do a masters degree, as this is a decade for kicking off my dream career. After university though I intend on doing a TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) course and move to South Korea for one year, somewhere in SE Asia for another, and finally a country in Central America for the third year. I want to do this after seeing how successful a family friend has been in gaining job opportunities in marketing because of her TEFL years. She also saved so much money up whilst doing so and obviously it's an amazing experience to see the world, and live within a different culture. The only disadvantage to this is that I ideally need to meet someone who will want to come with me, which will more than likely be a problem in itself.

Looking at this year particularly, I want to become a more focused and motivated person. My first step in doing so is going to be joining a gym, as I know being active keeps you more motivated and mentally happy. I am also determined to visit Bali in summer, as all my travel friends made me so, so jealous on their visits this year! Luckily I've found girls in uni who also want to make this a real plan, so I'm just going to keep working, saving, and keeping my fingers crossed that they don't back out. Also in summer I'd like to go to Lovebox and Wireless festivals, and spend more time in London as I just love the city but rarely visit.

Of course this year is also the one in which I shall be turning 21!! I can't believe I'm actually old now to be honest, and you best believe I'm already planning how I want to celebrate it (for a month at least, obviously).

Wishing everyone a happy, positive, stress-free new year!

Mia
