This task was to create a moodboard about the fragrance market and what is happening now in the sector that feels interesting. We were asked to "try and find the
less obvious" and to make ours look different to everyone else's.
I only used Photoshop for this board and I really like how it turned out:

Insights include:
The industry is moving away from gender-focused products. There is now a huge drive for unisex fragrances, suitable for everyone, as well as 'duo' or 'couple' fragrances, which target couples to buy similar fragrances of the same line / brand / smell.
Big fashion-house brands such as Chanel and Gucci still produce some of the bestselling fragrances of the current time, like they always have. E.g, Chanel One.
Smell and memories go hand in hand, often scents are sold like dreams.
To me, when I think about the fragrance sector I immediately vision chemicals and scientific-like experiments.
Brands are becoming more transparent in informing their customers exactly what products they use and why - because that is what today's consumers want.
More authentic, sustainable and fair products are being sourced and used due to the surge of both veganism and climate issues.
Rose petals were used throughout history by being pressed / condensed, now new tech advancements mean a much easier process of distillation is available.
Natural products like rose, lavender, jasmine, are used as calming scents. It is proven they can help mental health problems, and other illnesses such as dementia and people in recovery from surgery.
